Israel Link

Israelites are said to have the best airport security measures in the world.  There has not been a plane hijacking or a terrorist attack in over 30 years.  Where they differ from American security is how they interact with people.  Our airport security guards don't really engage in any conversations while the Israeli guards tend to do.  Another difference is that people in Israel are screened and checked before they even get to the checking in desk, so passengers never need to take their shoes off and never really need to get rid of their liquids.
The US is definitely beginning to be on the right track with airport measurements and precautions, it seems like they are learning from Israel.

I am glad that the US is using more advanced technology to reduce manual precautions like pat downs (which have caused a lot of stir in the past). Hopefully these will also reduce the discrimination that has occurred in the past as well. But in your first post you said that Homeland Security has not reduced our personal liberties and I don't agree with you on that point. As far as Airport security I don't think personal liberties have been reduced but in other areas they have. The Patriot Act and other follow up bills allow for phone taps, personal information to be accessed, certain searches not needing warrants that have in the past, and other reductions on individuals right to privacy. I believe that these and more are attacks on our personal liberties.
